Betting in Limit Hold Em
Betting is what makes Texas Hold Em such a complex game.
When you place a bet, you are conveying information to the other
players. They in turn, give you information when they place a bet.
Sometimes, by betting you are just trying to determine how your
hand ranks versus the other players. It all depends on context.
If you are in early position, and place
a bet, you are telling the other players that you have a very strong
hand. If you are in late position, you are telling them that you
have a strong hand, or, you are trying to steal the pot. Different
messages, same bet. This is what makes poker such an interesting
game.
Based upon your poker strategy,
you will play hands differently that some of the other players.
Good players can get a lot of information from their opponents,
just based upon their betting patterns. Generally speaking, if you
get raised, or even worse, check-raised,
look for reasons to fold your hand. You are probably beat. Lisen
to your intuition. It's probably right.
If you are going to play weaker hands, remember that the betting
on the Turn, and the
River are larger bets. It will cost you a lot of your money
to chase hands on the last two cards. Make sure the pot
odds are there, so if you do hit your cards, you will make a
big pot.
Texas Hold Em sounds very simple, however, it takes a lot of time
at the table to pick up the nuances of the game. This site was created

and how to bet. We'll show you how position
